Dear Parents and Friends:
I am proud and honored to be the new principal of Jackson-Via Elementary School. Jackson-Via Elementary School is a school that cares about your child and works to provide an atmosphere conducive to learning. Since I have been the assistant principal of Jackson-Via for two years, I am aware of how wonderful it is to see our students enter school excited and ready to learn. I am honored to work with a staff that nurtures and channels that enthusiasm.
For the 2011-12 school year, we have some wonderful new staff on board and also some staffing changes. Paula Johnson will be moving to Kindergarten this year and Bonnie Yoder will join our Special Education team. Pat Cuomo will join the Jackson-Via school community as the new Assistant Principal. Mr. Cuomo joins us from Chesterfield County Public Schools. We’d also like to welcome Hillary Pleasants to the first grade team, Alicia Currence to the fourth grade team, Susan Northington to the second grade team, Diane Keith as Math Specialist and Karen Minor as the Talent Development teacher We also have several new instructional assistants: Colette Thompson and Lauren Klinger. I am excited about our “outstanding” team of great educators!
Jackson-Via is a place where children come first and staff members are committed to providing meaningful, engaging work for the students. Our goal is for every child to be successful. We welcome your interest in our school and encourage you to visit our school. Please feel free to contact me at the school with any concerns or questions that you may have at any time during the school year.
I hope to see you on August 22, 2011 at Open House!
Sincerely,
Tracie Daniels, Principal
